The Center to Advance Community Health & Equity - CACHE
Health Equity Data Analytics Internship
Coaction lnstitute’s mission is to build capacity to effectively collaborate to address social determinants of health and the root causes of health inequities. The Institute recognizes the many paths to achieving its mission and vision and that it takes the assets of diverse stakeholders to make a meaningful impact on current conditions and disparities. It works with others to build our collective capacity and looks to fill in gaps rather than duplicate efforts. An important partner in the drive towards increased health equity is the Center to Advance Community Health and Equity (CACHE). CACHE’s data analytic framework supports “increased alignment and focus of health and related assets in communities where health inequities are concentrated, an equal distribution of public service burden among nonprofit hospitals, and transparent information to support community conversations that build an ethic of shared ownership for health (CACHE, 2020).” Coaction Institute’s Health Equity Data Analytics Interns contribute to the development of CACHE’s institutional infrastructure by analyzing data on health inequities in selected communities, including population health outcomes, hospital utilization, socio-economic trends, and local assets that support health (services, funding, etc.). A data visualization tool is used as part of the report to be produced. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a passion for health equity and be capable of working as part of a team of independent professionals. Coaction engages multiple interns and will work with candidates to identify individual commitments as part of the team effort. |
